First, paint all your nails black
I chose black for the base color because it makes the best contrast between shiny and mat part of the nails. I guess you could try any color though.

Then, add a mat top coat

Then, run clear top coat through your nail tips
I added freehand French nail tip using a clear top coat. Do not worry if you do not get the perfect line, striping tape will go over your line later and conceal imperfections. You can make your shiny tips with your black base bu this way you risk getting some black onto your cuticles. Clear top coat is the safest option :)

Last, add gold striping tape
Add gold striping tape over the French tip base. Wait until your base is completely dry to avoid the risk of smudging it with the tape.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed!

Hello lovelies!

This post is a mixture of a tutorial, stamping nail art and a product review.

Bundle Monster 2013 Holiday Collection review
I am happy to share with you my love for this Bundle Monster stamping plate collection! I have loved it forever and when I was finally going to get my hands on it, Bundle Monster were so kind to offer is as blog sponsorship!

This is a collection of 25 image plates with a festive theme to all of them. I think this is a super versatile collection as you may pick images to match various Holidays and represent their spirit with nail art.

Browse the gallery below to find a detailed image as well as each plate’s individual code.

The plates have the usual round form. They are easy to use and especially to clean. Images  transfer easily and super clean. I have used the plates on several occasions with special stamping nail polish as well as with regular nail colors and have received the same beautiful effect every time.

You can get this set directly from the Bundle Monster web page.

Vintage multi color Balloon nails tutorial
Here is my first nail design with the Bundle Monster Holiday image plates. I chose BM-H 20 plate to transfer the balloon image on a white base.

I love this multi color vintage effect so much! You can recreate it by adding three colors of your choice on the image plate and then scrape the excess polish off. The scraper mixes a bit th color on the plate itself and when you transfer them the colors blend on your nail.

I added a matte top coat to help the images pop and got a ton of compliments :)

Hello nail art lovers!

You have been witnessing my half moon fever for a while. I love the half moon trend for spring 2014 and have already shown you my pink and orange color block design as well my half moon wedding nails idea. Half moon nail design is a good break from the all over color but still not too complicated to make and thus to fit the lifestyle of an active girl with many things to do.

Today I want to share with you my blue and mint half moon nail design. I think half moon nails look great in a contrasting color combination so I went for another color block. This time I used a mat top coat and I really love the result. I must admit that a fat top coat blends the design a bit better but if you need a change, go ahead and grab your mat top coat!

I will not go into any details how I exactly made the nails as I have used the same technique as in my red and orange color block tutorial linked above. Just change the colors to your liking and mat those nails all over :)

Hello lovelies!

I want to share with you my black and white feather manicure. This is the first time I make such design just because I thought it would be too difficult to draw the feather detail free handedly. I have been so wrong! This nail art is gentle and sophisticated but at the same time easy to make. This feathery manicure can take some hand flinch or some imperfections because the feather detail is meant to look a little fluffy and airy, if this makes any sense :)

I know I promised a post dedicated to my Liebster award nomination and it will be here soon. I just need some more time to think it over so that I will be able to really contribute to this great initiative. Until then, the feather nails :)

First, paint your nails white.
Make sure to use a thick white shade to a sheer one. This will make the perfect canvas for some drawing.

How to add feathers to your nails?
For this feather nail art I used a regular stippling brush from a nail art polish. Aim for a slightly curved line rather than a straight stripe. Start adding short lines from top to bottom of this line, making the strokes slightly longer as you are getting close to the bottom. Do this for the two sides of your feather. At this point it may not look too much as a feather, but it will :) Now add some more strokes to both sides but this time try to make them with a different angle to the main line, slightly crossing your previously created lines. This will create a little depth and motion to your feather.

I think this nail design can easily make a great wedding day manicure.

Last, add a mat top coat.
We all know feathers are not gel-look-top-polish shiny so for this nail art tutorial I picked a mat top coat.

Hello lovelies!

Today I want to share with you how to make this pink zebra nail design. This is a bizarre pastel pink animal with mat skin, white stripes and a hint of gold :) Read on for a step-by-step tutorial.

First, paint your nails soft pink.
I was in a mood for a baby pink these days. You can chose any favorite pink you have but I believe this design will look as romantic and soft as it is now if you use a paler shade.

Second, add zebra stripes.
Again, to get this gentle zebra look I chose to make white stripes instead of black ones. I draw zebra stripes freehandedly but have featured this zebra print how to in my earlier tutorial, in case you will need a guide. I used a stripping brush I made by trimming and old clear coat brush. I have already given you this idea in my 5 DIY nail products you can get for free.

Then, add a mat top coat.
It is a good idea to add the mat top coat before the gold zebra stripes because gold colors usually have some glitter in it and you do not want to steal away their sparkle by covering it with a mat formula.

Last, add gold detail.
My gold color comes with a stripping brush so I used it to add the stripes. You need just a few touches here and there as this step is meant to add a gold hint to your strange animal skin rather than overwhelm it with glitter.
