Color
Dance Legend 182 is part of Dance Legend Thermo Shine nail polish collection featuring 4 color changing formulas. It changes between a strawberry jam color when your fingers are hot to a deep purple blackberry sourbet color when your fingers are cold.

Formula and application
This nail polish formula is a jelly base packed with glitter in two shapes: small dots and larger hex shapes. Glitter is silver but appears light pink into the jelly color base.

Dance Legend Thermo Shine 182 covers nails perfectly in two coats. It is fairly easy to work with given the fact that glitter is usually a bit harder to distribute on nails.

Wear
It is super fun to wear this nail color! I love how dynamic your nails are throughout the day depending on how the temperature changes. When your fingers are hot, it appears as a beautiful glitter strawberry jelly color and when it is cold outside it becomes dark and mysterious purple shade. In room temperature is shifts beautifully between the two and finally finds its balance creating an amazing gradient effect. I wore 2 coats with a top coat for 3 days with no chips. Formula is a bit hard to remove because of the glitter but with some patience it will not need any special attention to take off.

My verdict
I love this color! It is dynamic and different, I got a ton of compliments wearing it and it will be one of my all time favorites forever :)

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed!

Hello lovelies!

Today’s post is my first nail polish comparison on the blog.

Essie Shearling Darling OPI Visions of Love

Essie Shearling Darling and OPI Visions of Love comparison and swatches

The stars are the dark and vampy Essie Shearling Darling and OPI Visions of Love. Both are winter 2013 releases and look like each other very much. I love deep reds and I am happy I have these in my collection but with them being so close color siblings I am not sure I would insist on both in future.

To compare the colors I have Essie Shearling Darling on my index and middle fingers and OPI Visions of Love on my ring and little fingers, each in two coats with one layer of top coat. Simply by looking at the swatches you can tell Shearling Darling is a bit lighter than OPI Visions of Love. These shots were taken in daylight and this color difference is much more visible than if you are looking at the colors in artificial light.

Essie Shearling Darling OPI Visions of Love swatches

The formula of these two is rather different though. Essie Shearling Darling is a creme, super easy to apply and build perfect coverage in two coats. Dries fast and with a top coat wears great for two days. OPI Visions of Love is a sheer creme or a crelly if you wish. First coat goes on a bit patchy and if you do not pay special attention when applying the second coat you may need even a third one to get flawless color. Two coats and a top layer wear perfect for three days.

Both Shearling Darling and Visions of love are awful stainers so I suggest using them over a base and removing them with extra caution or they might color your cuticles in a reddish color and make them look sore.

Thanks for reading my thoughts on these two mysterious beauties, I hope you enjoyed!

Hello lovelies!

I am seriously into the blue with nail polish and I am saying this in the most positive aspect possible :) When it comes to nail color I am rediscovering blue shades and today I want to show you two stunning beauties from L.A. Girls 3D Effects Holograph nail polish collection.

Colors
L.A. Girls 3D Effects Holograph nail polish collection features a total of eight shades and it was extremely hard for me to pick only the two I am showing you in this post. I got Brilliant blue and Teal Dimension.

L.A. Girl 3D Effects Holograph Brilliant Blue is a royal blue base color with little holographic parts added to it.

Formula and application
These colors are very easy to work with and application does not require any special attention. For my photos I have two coats of color and then one layer of top coat. Your first coat may appear a bit sheer but base color will build up perfectly with the second layer. L.A. Girld 3D Effects Holograph nail polishes really have a beautiful three dimensional effect but they dry smooth and glossy.

Holo particles catch light beautifully leaving you with a full impact effect in both artificial and sunlight.

Wear
With two coats of color and one layer of top coat these wear perfectly for three day. I had some worries that these would stain nails as most blue shades do but L.A. Girls 3D Effects polishes leave your nail base in great shape.

My Verdict
With these polishes stunning holo effect, beautiful colors and perfect layer I will definitely be getting more colors from this range! I love them!

You know I plan my nail polish purchases and do a good research before I buy new nail polish. I have already told you why in my How to build nail polish wish list for the upcoming season post. So these 6 beauties were planned to be my spring to summer 2014 nail colors. I know I will probably get a few more shades but this is my educated choice for the moment :)

Somehow all my spring to summer colors turned out to be from China Glaze, I did not mean this but obviously their City Flourish collection really got to me! Here is a photo combining all the colors, you will find their names listed below.

China Glaze Sun of a Peach nail polish review
This one was released as a neon crème from the Sunsational summer 2013 collection. It is a gorgeous color which has everything I love in a summer color. You may look at it as a super bright orangey coral which brings tons of good mood and sunshine to nails. I had done my homework before I got this one and read the reviews out there. I read about its awful formula, how it is transparent, streaks and takes too much effort for opaque coverage but I decided to get it anyway. How hard could it be, right? Well, all negative things about Sun of a Peach formula you will read out there are true to the last word, sadly. Formula is thin, streaks, it is difficult to control and is definitely not a good choice for someone in a hurry as it needs at least 4 coats for a beautiful full coverage. The one positive thing is maybe that it does not take long to dry. I am sorry my experience did not prove the negative hype about this nail polish wrong but this is how things are. I still absolutely love the color though!

Color is super difficult to photograph and I suggest if you are considering China Glaze Sun of a Peach for your collection, see it in real first.

So this was my China Glaze haul, I promise to show you all colors soon. Did you get any City Flourish nail polishes yet? What’s in your wish list?

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed?

Hello lovelies!

Today I want to tell you about an interesting nail polish. Versatile, two-faced and alluring, OPI Stay the Night is a gem which should not be missed. It was released for the spring 2013 season as a result of the brand’s colaboration with Mariah Carey and if you have not stumbled upon it so far, stay with me for a thorough review and some photos to speak better than words.

Color
OPI Stay The Night is a hot pink glitter in a black base.  Pink particles are small and fine, same color and size. It looks jelly like in the bottle but gives full opaque coverage in two coats.

Formula and application
OPI Stay The Night is designed as a liquid sand formula which means it dries to a textured look. This nail polish gives a very interesting effect as the base dries matte but the glitter keeps shining. Textured nail polishes are meant to be left without a top coat so with two layers your OPI Stay the Night will be matte black texture, not too rough but with a visible three-dimensional effect. Application may be a little tricky as formula is on the thick side and the nail polish brush is rather large.

Textured polishes are a bit difficult to identify while in the bottle and using a liquid sand for the first time may be a surprise. I must admit that when I had my first layer of OPI Stay The Night on I thought this was the ugliest see through brownish thing I had ever seen. If you get the same first impression, please wait until you have the second layer on, it changes everything for the better.

Here is a photo of my nails with two coats of OPI Stay The Night without any top coat.

I already mentioned the thick formula so you may have guessed it needs a bit of extra time to dry. Tip! This is absolutely right and my tip would be to invest some time to wait in between layers rather than top layers up and wait forever for the polish to dry. Personally, I prefer OPI Stay The Night with top coat on.

Adding a top coat transforms this textured formula to a deep magical color combination which stole my heart the moment I saw it. Tip! To smooth the texture, add a fat coat of clear nail polish and then a fast drying top coat to speed the drying process up. Here is a photo of two OPI Stay The Night coats with the addition of two layers of clear top coat.

I am including a comparison photo to help illustrate  how this nail polish transforms when you add a top coat to it.

Wear
OPI Stay The Night wears in a different way depending on whether you have a top coat on. Without the top coat you will enjoy about two days of perfect wear. I find this logical as you actually have only two nail polish coats without anything in addition to protect the nail polish and seal the color.

With a top coat OPI Stay The Night wears great for four days which is OK for a dark nail polish. Top coat will prevent color from fading and tips from chips so this is definitely the option I go for.

I find this textured formula easy to remove. You do not need any special procedure for the glitter to come off but I do suggest taking some time to soak the nail into nail polish remover. Tip! Put some nail polish remover on a cotton pad, press it onto your nail and count to ten. These seconds will be enough to soften the base color and give glitter a looser base to hold to. It will make it easier to remove.

Price and availability
OPI Stay The Night is not part of some limited edition special occasion collection so you may find it for a regular OPI product price. It is available at many online retail stores and I am pretty sure you have a good chance to find it in major beauty stores which stock OPI nail polish range.

My Verdict
OPI Stay The Night is a pain to work with but it has this unique dual character which will make me love it forever. Matte and shine together, textured and smooth at the same time all depending on your wish, it is worth the patience to get it right.

So what do you think of this one, does it inspire you in any way?
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed.

Hello lovelies!

With so much innocent white, pretty pastels and natural shades going on at nailcentric.net lately I felt like going on the dark side for a change. Today I want to show you an inspiring formula I recently got on a whim. This is my new  Kleancolor glitter beauty called Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black.

Packaging
Chunky Holo Black is my first Kleancolor nail polish. It comes in a bulky nail polish bottle with a good 15ml amount of product. I must admit I find the cap a little strange but besides this personal remark I find the bottle easy to hold, store and enjoy. I love how Chunky Holo Black shows into the bottle, it catches light in the most beautiful way and is a jewel itself.

Formula and Application
It is a bit difficult for me to describe what Chunky Holo Black is… I see it as a chunky glitter in a grayish jelly base. Kleancolor call it holo but I would say glitter particles are too big to be qualified as a classic holographic formula. Formula is easy to work with mostly because base is stacked up with glitter so you may control how much effect you want where. Chunky Holo Black dried quickly, I find this a pleasant surprise because sometimes in my tries to get more glitter on nails I tend to get too much base too which eventually leads to slow drying process. I am very happy with how quick this formula sets.

Color
Chunky Holo Black is a glitter magic in a bottle and it gives a very unique effect. I absolutely love it as it is nail art itself and gives you all those “How did you do that?” questions without much effort.

As glitter comes in a sheer gray base, I strongly suggest you use this nail polish on a dark opaque base. Not only this would make glitter pop but also I do not think it turns out good on a light base. Before I put this review up I made an experiment with different base color and I think it works very bad on its own, with white and with a natural color as a base. I am ok with this as I expected the result. After all Chunky Holo Black is a glitter effect in a jelly formula so it is meant to complement other colors and destined to be ugly on its own :)

Wear
Chuky Holo Black wears great in time. I had it on for 4 full days which is great for me. I think laying it on a color base helps the nail polish combination stay longer because you end up adding at least 3 layers of formula on your nails (one/two base layers + one/two Chunky Holo Black layers) and this is if you choose not to add a top coat.

Price and availability
A downside to Kleancolor nail polishes in general is that they are very difficult to find in Euroope. Being a US brand, Kleancolor have best availability and prices in the United States and you need to do a bit more work to find them somewhere else. Of course you can always look through your trusted online sellers and check if they stock Kleancolor products.

My Verdict
I find Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black a very unique and rare formula. I love how it pairs with dark base colors, the result is amazing, I keep staring at my nails all the time! It comes for a low price and I immediately looked for the rest nail polishes of the collection. Unfortunately, I won’t be bying them as they are difficult to find in Europe.
