Hello nail art lovers!

You know I love animal print nails for they make a great accent in a nail art design. I have shown you all kinds of animals including a zebra, a tiger, a snake and even a butterfly and today I want to show you an easy leopard print manicure. Read on for a tutorial how to make these animal nails.

First, paint some of your nails a peach shade and some of them white.
I wanted to tone down the wild animal effect so I chose a delicate peach for my main color. You will use your white nails for the leopard print so chose them based on where you want that accent to be. I usually choose my ring finger and thumb, I did the same for this manicure, too.

Add the leopard detail.
I love doing leopard nails because the leopard print is rather random and is very difficult to get it wrong. All you need is some random peach polish blobs on your white. These are your while cat spots.

After you have them in place, get some black on a stripping brush and make little lines around the blobs. Tip! Do not cover the whole area around the spots with black, you are aiming for a furry effect rather than a circle. To make your animal skin look more realistic, as any peach leopard should look, add tiny strokes and dots of black in between your leopard spots. This will fill the design and make it look more complete.

I am adding a close up of the leopard nail art to show you how random and a little messy it really is. I am doing this to show you do not have to worry if it is not perfect when you look it from 2 mm distance, it will look great from a normal distance. Tip! Stop telling yourself you won’t try it because you cannot draw, this is not a drawing but few random blobs of color with the cutest effect :)

Last, add some top coat.
I have said this before, but it won’t hurt if I say it again, so pardon me for sounding like a broken record… Such nail designs with several colors added one after another usually turn patchy. To smooth out the design use a fat clear top coat which will conceal the bumps and lumps. If you want to play a little and go for a more realistic animal skin, you can give your peachy leopard the matte treatment :)

Tip! You can recreate this design using whichever two colors you love. The trick that holds it together is to use one of the base colors for making the blobs for your leopard. If you decide to play with this leopard nail art I’d love to see how it turned out!

Hello nail art lovers!

Today I am happy to share with you an embellished party manicure. It has pink and baby blue, it has stones, it is girly and perfect for going out and having some fun. I love how the various stones make this nail design somehow creatively messy, like a teenage girl room :)

How to make embellished girly nails?
This is a pretty straightforward nail art. Paint some of your nails pink and some of them blue. I chose pastel nail colors for the doll like vibe they bring and for how easy pastel colors are to combine together. Then add the stones :)

The key to this manicure are the stones you will use to embellish it. Chose different types and sizes to achieve the messy nail art look. You can use pearls, stones, little beads, you can play with colors and basically recycle your nail art stones leftovers. This is what I did with a bunch of embellishments I had not used in some previous nail designs but did not want to throw away.

It is not necessary to use some special glue to attach stones to your manicure. It is ok to add a tiny drop of clear nail polish and then press the embellishment onto your nail art. Tip! Nail art decorations with flat back will attach the easiest and will stay longer on your nails.

Hello nail art lovers!

My pastel  fever  is getting stronger and now I want all pastel beauties on my nails at the same time. I want to share with you my pastel candy nails with gold studs and how I made them. This design is very fast, very easy and also very cute, it made me smile every time I looked at my nails so it is a true mood booster :)

First, paint your nails in 5 different pastel colors.
Choose a different color for all nails. Use white on one of the fingers and colors you absolutely adore for the others. Tip! If some of your colors are brighter than a pastel should be, add a coat of sheer white on top. This will tone off the color and make it paler and softer. For my nails I did this for the coral and mint shades.

Then, embellish nails with dots and gold studs.
Add black dots to your white nails to make this nail design look even cuter and girly. Stick a gold stud to all nails. Tip! Make sure to use flat gold studs as they stick more easily to nail polish and wear longer. If your studs are flat, they will not even need a top coat to hold them in place and just pressing onto wet color will be perfectly enough for them to attach.

I was not happy with how all of my black dots turned out. Tip! If you want to conceal any of the black dots, put your stud on it so that it will embellish nail and conceal the flaws in the nail design.

Hello lovelies!

Today I want to share with you my top 3 ways to wear glitter nail polish. Glitters are oh-so-shiny! and attractive in those sparkling bottles but when you get one yourself you may realize that you do not use it often. Maybe because going too sparkly does not fit your environment, maybe you think it is difficult to get glitter to work with most outfits, maybe because you get bored of that same effect , etc. Here are my favorite ways to wear glitter and get the most out of it.

Glitter in a jelly sandwich
Jelly sandwich nails are a fun way to play with glitter and nail polish colors. To make a jelly sandwich manicure you will need a jelly nail polish, which is a sheer color with a glossy finish, and any glitter formula. The technique follows the steps of making a sandwich. Jelly nail polish is your bread, so you will apply it first, then apply your glitter, and then finish with another jelly coat. Jelly sandwiches are great for when you do not feel like sparkling in glitter but more like playing with it.

For this glitter jelly sandwich I used a yellow color in combination with rose gold glitter and topped it up with sheer white.

Glitter as a top coat
No matter if your glitter has a clear or a colored base, it Is ideal as a top coat. You can be shy and apply a thin coat onto regular nail polish colors or you can go bold on it to attract the eye. Whichever it will be, this is for sure a great way to get variety working with what you already have.

Glitter all over
I love using glitter as an allover color. Usually glitter nail polishes come with a clear or at least sheer base and it may be difficult to get full coverage with your regular two or three color layers. This makes glitter manicures take too much time to dry. Tip! If you are looking for an allover color, apply one of three coats in advance, for example the previous night. This is a great preparation so that you can build up full glitter coverage at the same day you will be showing off your nails. You will shorten drying time dramatically and will still be able to play with more glitter coats until you like the result. Tip! To get more glitter on your nails just dip the brush into the formula and then press it on your nails instead of sweeping it as usual. This will leave you with a concentrated blob of glitter so that you will have more material to play with until you like the result.

I prefer using allover glitter as an accent on few nails. Check out my blue and gold nails post to see what I mean.

These were my tips how to use glitter nail polish. Check out my post for how to remove glitter as it may turn out to be the toughest part of all :)

Hello lovelies!

It is barely January and I am already anticipating the spring season. I got hooked to the pastel colors trend for spring/summer this year and I’d love to wear it this season. I am sharing with you my spring 2014 fashion inspiration board dedicated to pastel color trend. Of course, this post is in the Mix Box, my blog section totally unrelated to manicure :)

My picks to pull off the pastel colors fashion trend for spring 2014 are in the inspiration board below.

Parka
The parka is mu ultimate choice for a casual outwear. I think it is perfect for spring, as well as autumn and colder summer nights. A pastel color parka can be a key piece in a spring 2014 look. I love this pastel pink 4 pocket jacket from Next.

Ankle boots
I love how versatile these ankle boots by Dr. Martens are. The colors seem a little pretentious but the boots themselves are a versatile spring shoe option. I love how they look with skinny jeans, skirts and dresses and it you do not want to show them off too much, you can always wear them with the good old bootcut jeans pair on top.

Candy color jeans
Spring is the best season to freshen up the look so that it goes perfectly with new  nature colors and finally there sunshine :) I love the candy colored pastel jeans for a casual and youthful look.

Hair color
As much as I love ombre hairstyle I will not go for pastel lilac all over. Anyways, my spring hair refreshment look features pastel colored hair extensions to clip in hair. Colorful clip in hair strands are a great way to keep up with the trend without giving up your right to go back to natural when you have an important business meeting.

Multiple bracelets
From all jewellry out there my favorite piece must be the bracelet. Rolled up sleeves are my signature thing so bracelets fit just right there and make a perfect way to wear a trend. A multiple pastel color bracelet will complete a look no matter of the main color you have chosen for your look. I love Next’s Pastel expander bracelet.

Pastel nails
Pastel nails are a strong nail trend for 2014 and I will wear them with pleasure. I find the pale yellow shade more unique and rare so I will be looking for this color as soon as spring 2014 nail polish collections hit the stores this season.

Thanks for sharing my inspiration! Will you be rocking the pastel trend this spring/summer season?.

Hello lovelies!

Today I want to share with you how to make this pink zebra nail design. This is a bizarre pastel pink animal with mat skin, white stripes and a hint of gold :) Read on for a step-by-step tutorial.

First, paint your nails soft pink.
I was in a mood for a baby pink these days. You can chose any favorite pink you have but I believe this design will look as romantic and soft as it is now if you use a paler shade.

Second, add zebra stripes.
Again, to get this gentle zebra look I chose to make white stripes instead of black ones. I draw zebra stripes freehandedly but have featured this zebra print how to in my earlier tutorial, in case you will need a guide. I used a stripping brush I made by trimming and old clear coat brush. I have already given you this idea in my 5 DIY nail products you can get for free.

Then, add a mat top coat.
It is a good idea to add the mat top coat before the gold zebra stripes because gold colors usually have some glitter in it and you do not want to steal away their sparkle by covering it with a mat formula.

Last, add gold detail.
My gold color comes with a stripping brush so I used it to add the stripes. You need just a few touches here and there as this step is meant to add a gold hint to your strange animal skin rather than overwhelm it with glitter.
