Hello nail art lovers!

Today I have for you a flower nail design based on dots. I chose three of the colors from Zoya Naturel nail polish collection which I love. These are Zoya Normani (thumb), Zoya Brigitte (forefinger) and Zoya Chantal (pinkie). To get this nail design you need a dotting tool and some nail art studs/beads. On your middle and ring fingers paint 5 dots to form a flower. Then add micro beads in the center of each flower and finally ceal your design with a layer of top coat.

Hello nail art lovers!

Today I have for you a quick and easy nail art idea with striping tape. To get the look below simply paint your nails nude and your ring finger white. Then add three pieces of striping tape to your middle finger tip and paint it white.

Nail polishes I used are my favorite white Essie Blanc and the beautiful nude Zoya Chantal.

Hello nail art lovers!

To get it, simply use Zoya Chantal, Brigitte and Normani to color your nails and then use the same colors to stamp the leopard skin design. Zoya Naturel colors are great for stamping!

I used my MoYou London The Pro stamping plate for the leopard stamp and a mat top coat to achieve more satin line finish.

Hello lovelies!

Today’s post will be a review of a super interesting formula by Dance Legend. This is Dance Legend Sunshine 195, which in reaction with light shifts its base color. Formula was very difficult to photograph as the second light hits it it gets darker…

Dance Legend Sunshine 195 review and swatches

When lighting is subtle Dance Legend Sunshine 195 is a milky off white shade with a slight pink hue. When hit bu direct sunlight, it turns into a vibrant dark purple shade.

Formula and application
Dance Legend Sunshine 195 color shifting formula is packed with different sizes gold glitter. It adds an extra something to your color and looks as beautiful on the lightest as well as the darkest nail polish color.

This nail polish is easy to apply and build, the first layer leaving you with a rather see through color which gets fully opaque by adding a second coat.

Wear
Dance Legend Sunshine 195 wears great for two days without a top coat and up to four with a top layer added. Adding a top coat will not ruin its color shift qualities so it is up to your preference how to wear it. Glitter is a bit difficult to remove so you might want to soak your nails in nail polish remover for 10 seconds before you attempt to take the color off.

My verdict
I love the idea of having a pink nude manicure while at the office which, with no effort, transforms to a beautiful purple shade for your walk in the park after work hours. Both colors are very wearable and will not get you bored for having the same nail color for days :)

Hello lovelies!

Today I have for you a recent nude find I love. Meet Essie Mamba, a peachy nude nail polish which in my opinion is great for a yellow undertone complexion.

Formula and application
Essie Mamba is an opaque creme. Formula is creamy, easy to distribute, does not streak and builds to even coverage in two coats. Essie Mamba nail polish is packed with the usual fat Essie brush which gives you full control and helps steady application.

Formula dries relatively fast and you can easily expect tw layers to be good to go in a total of 5 minutes.

Wear
This peachy nude wears for 4 days with your usual 2 coats of color + one layer of top coat approach. However, I prefer to apply three coats of color because it wears great literally until you decide to change it. Chips, if they appear, are not too obvious due to the nude origin of Essie Mamba and helps wear a day more.

My verdict
Easy to get hold of and complementing to the skin tone, Essie Mamba is one of my all time favorite nude shades. It is also a great quality formula so I am two thumbs up for this one!

Hello nail art lovers!

Happy April Fool’s Day!

I am awful  at coming up with original and fun practical jokes so I’ll stick to nails today :) I played a bit with the needle drag nail art technique and I am happy how this nail design turned out. Needle drag designs are fun to play with but also a bit unpredictable so if you like surprises, stay with me for a tutorial how to get these needle drag flower nails.

What is the needle drag nail art technique?
This technique is basically using a needle to drag wet nail polish onto your nails and this way create various random designs and shapes. When nail polish is not dry you can manipulate it a bit and mix it with another wet color. You may mimic the water marble nails, can create interesting shapes featuring two or more colors, etc. You have to work fast with the needle drag nail art technique as you will have only few seconds to work with the colors while they are still wet but once you find your way to do it, it will be easier.

A key thing to the needle drag design is not being too overwhelmed by precision at all costs. This technique usually holds a surprise and unlike stamping for example is not meant to be print like. So have fun and enjoy!

For this design I used nail polishes from Zoya Naturel spring 2014 collection.
Excuse my cuticles for not being in their best condition ever…

First, paint your nails a nude color
As a base color I used Zoya Chantal from Zoya Naturel spring 2014 nail polish collection. At this point add only one coat of your base color. You will add a second one but one finger at a time so that you will work with wet nail polish. Tip! Try not to add a coat which is too thick in your attempt to buy more time to work while nail polish is wet as this will only leave you with a never drying blob of color you cannot control well.

Add the needle drag flowers
It is important to work one nail at a time. Technique is rather simple but you need to be fast, so get everything ready before you start painting. Tip! Open the caps of the nail colors you are going to use and keep them at hand, have your needle prepped. So this is how it goes: add a second layer of your base color and while it is still wet, add a few  fat dots of different nail colors. While everything is still wet, gently drag the colors around with a needle. You will see how colors merge and create a unique nail design.

For this manicure I used only two colors. These are Zoya Normani and Zoya Brigitte form Zoya Naturel 2014 nail polish collection.

Add a fast drying top coat
For this technique it is necessary to use a fast product at all costs :) Nail drag designs turn out fat and tend to dry very slowly and chances are you will ruin your work if you do not take extra steps  to make everything dry faster. I used Essie Good to Go fast drying top coat but you may try a different product that works for you, for example a drying spray or drying nail drops. I choose to use a top coat as it helps seal the whole design together.

So this is it, the needle drag nail art technique.

Hello lovelies!

I am so excited to tell you about my new natural colors palette! I got three shades of Zoya Naturel spring 2014 nail polish range and have for you some swatches and thoughts on the collection.

Zoya Naturel collection features six natural nail colors. I would say they are not ‘natural’ in the way of ‘nude’ but more like in the way of complementing complexion and creating a natural as the opposite of artificial look. Not sure if this makes much sense so I got some photos which I hope will make the whole idea clear.

Packaging
Zoya Naturel spring 2014 nail colors of come in classic Zoya nail polish bottles. Bottles are on the larger side as you get 15ml of nail polish, they have a black plastic cap. I find the package stylish and bottles easy to hold.

Formula and Application
Zoya nail polishes are free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP, Formaldehyde Resin & Camphor, those big five chemicals you do not want on your nails. All Zoya Naturel nail polishes are opaque crèmes. Formula is rather thin but very pigmented so you get full coverage in two thin coats. The brush is flexible enough and incredibly easy to control. These colors have a glossy finish and would not require a top coat if its sole purpose is to add shine to your manicure. I think this collection would make my ultimate office nail wear as it is so fast and easy to get your nails done using these polishes.

Colors
All colors from the Naturel 2014 aim to complement different skin tones and provide a natural look. You have them in six shades named after ladies. Zoya Chantal, Zoya Taylor and Zoya Rue are the nude like shades of the range; Zoya Brigitte, Zoya Odette and Zoya Normani have a purplish hue to them.

I think these are great to wear at the office, a business occasion or a formal event as they are delicate yet feminine enough to add some glamour to your look without catching too much attention when you might not want it.

The ones I got and I believe go best with my complexion are:

Zoya Chantal is a nude beige and is a classic skin tone shade. It is the perfect nude nail color if you, like me have a relatively light skin with yellow undertone.

Zoya Brigitte is a sort of a mauve shade with a strong pink hue. I find this shade to  work great with a larger range of skin tones. It builds super easy and leaves you with a refined pink without the pink shade, ideal for business meetings.

Zoya Brigitte swatch

Zoya Normani is a taupe crème with a delicate purple vibe. It is cool toned and probably my favorite of the whole range. I love cool taupe shades and this one is rather unique for its purple add on.

Wear
These polishes wear great, do not fade, have a glossy finish and you count on at least three days without additional layers and up to a whole work week with a base and top coat.

Price and availability
Zoya nail polishes are on the pricier side and personally I prefer to get them with some kind of promotion. You can get them by different retailer online and offline, I prefer to get mine through official Zoya website. This collection is already available for purchase.

My verdict
I am simply in love with this range. Colors are wearable and suit a lot of occasions. Nail polish formula is safe and easy to apply. These polishes save time for they build to full color with a glossy finish in only two coats. The collection is a bit pricey but if you are lucky to get some discount or find a promotion, definitely go for it!
