Hello nail art lovers!

Today I have for you a nail design with that iconic Burberry pattern accent. This beautiful berry color is Raspberry by Barry M.

The Burberry accent I started on a base of opaque nude, my favorite Zoya Chantal. I added two thicker white lines using directly the nail polish brush. The black and raspberry lines I added using a thin brush. I must admit this design was quite a challenge as I am not the best in making straight lines. Anyway, I love the result and think the effort was well worth it :)

Hello lovelies!

It has been a while since I last shared a manicure with you. My previous months have been really hectic and while juggling various responsibilities this winter it almost came to an end. It is March now and we are just a step away from spring :)

I think it is a good time for a winter nail art roundup and this post features my favorite manicures since December.

Hello lovelies!

The idea of creating your own jelly formula has been really tempting for a while. I finally tried it and here is the jelly raspberry nail polish I came out with.

DIY jelly nail polish experiment and tips

To get your own jelly nail polish formula simply add a few dots of creme formula to a leftover clear top coat. In my photos you see 5 drops of Barry M Raspberry mixed into about 2 ml of L’Oreal Resist and shine clear top coat. I have 4 coats of this DIY jelly nail polish on my nails.

DIY jelly nail polish tips

TIP 1: Choose an opaque creme
Choosing an opaque creme nail polish will help you get the pigmentation you prefer. If your colored formula is too think or sheer you may end up adding color forever with what seems no effect at all.

TIP 2: Add a drop at a time
Add one single drop at a time and mix well so that you can get a better view of your mixture. Adding more color later is easier than trying to dilute an over colored base.

TIP 3: Do not use fast drying top coat
Use a regular / long lasting / strengthening etc. clear nail polish instead of fast drying one. Fast drying top coats do not blend well with added formula and you may end up with a streaky mixture which will not build up beautifully on nails.

So this was my first successful DIY jelly nail polish experiment. My next stop will be a black jelly :)

Hello nail art lovers!

Today I have for you a quick and easy nail art idea with striping tape. To get the look below simply paint your nails nude and your ring finger white. Then add three pieces of striping tape to your middle finger tip and paint it white.

Nail polishes I used are my favorite white Essie Blanc and the beautiful nude Zoya Chantal.

Hello lovelies!

Today I am happy to share with you some thoughts on another gem by dance Legend, the gorgeous Avada Kedavra.

Avada Kedavra is part of the Lumos collection of the Russian nail polish brand. It comes in a bottle equipped with a flashlight :) You can see how it looks with the flashlight on in direct sunshine as wel as in a dark room.

Formula and application

Avada Kedavra is actually small different sized flakes in a clear base. Depending on how light hits the flakes, they appear bluish or greenish.

Below I have two coats of Avada Kedavra on a black base. What can I say, I absolutely love how it looks! Flakes are easy to distribute evenly and lay flat on your nail once the formula is dry. It is easier to remove compared to glitter nail polishes and a bit harder than your regular creme.

Wear

How Avada Kedavra will wear depends on the base you will be layering it over. In my case I had it on for 3 days with no wear signs. Its clear base can serve as a top coat and wearing a top coat is optional with Avada Kedavra but I still recommend a layer of top coat if you want to wear it longer.

My verdict

I absolutely love Avada Kedavra, I think it is rather unique and it fits perfectly the Halloween theme :) It is such a shame Dance Legend nail polishes are so hard to find out of Russia…

Hello nail art lovers!

I have already shared with you my love for gradient nail art designs along with my regret that I have not mastered making them yet… Today I have for you  some ideas how to repair your gradient nail art in case it did not turn out perfect on every nail or it has worn off on a nail or two :)

TIP 1: Add solid color + polka dots

For this design I thought adding a solid color in one of my gradient colors will fit the design. I added polka dost to make it cuter. For this design I used Essie, Models Own Pink Veneer and China Glaze At Vase value over a white base of Essie Blanc. I added a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust to smooth the gradient out.

TIP 2: Use striping tape and full coverage

My next idea is to use some striping tape on some of your nails and cover your gradient completely with an opaque color. When you take the striping tape off, your gradient will still come through the full color. I chose to cover with white.

Hello lovelies!

This post is a mixture of a tutorial, stamping nail art and a product review.

Bundle Monster 2013 Holiday Collection review
I am happy to share with you my love for this Bundle Monster stamping plate collection! I have loved it forever and when I was finally going to get my hands on it, Bundle Monster were so kind to offer is as blog sponsorship!

This is a collection of 25 image plates with a festive theme to all of them. I think this is a super versatile collection as you may pick images to match various Holidays and represent their spirit with nail art.

Browse the gallery below to find a detailed image as well as each plate’s individual code.

The plates have the usual round form. They are easy to use and especially to clean. Images  transfer easily and super clean. I have used the plates on several occasions with special stamping nail polish as well as with regular nail colors and have received the same beautiful effect every time.

You can get this set directly from the Bundle Monster web page.

Vintage multi color Balloon nails tutorial
Here is my first nail design with the Bundle Monster Holiday image plates. I chose BM-H 20 plate to transfer the balloon image on a white base.

I love this multi color vintage effect so much! You can recreate it by adding three colors of your choice on the image plate and then scrape the excess polish off. The scraper mixes a bit th color on the plate itself and when you transfer them the colors blend on your nail.

I added a matte top coat to help the images pop and got a ton of compliments :)
