Hello nail art lovers!

My pastel  fever  is getting stronger and now I want all pastel beauties on my nails at the same time. I want to share with you my pastel candy nails with gold studs and how I made them. This design is very fast, very easy and also very cute, it made me smile every time I looked at my nails so it is a true mood booster :)

First, paint your nails in 5 different pastel colors.
Choose a different color for all nails. Use white on one of the fingers and colors you absolutely adore for the others. Tip! If some of your colors are brighter than a pastel should be, add a coat of sheer white on top. This will tone off the color and make it paler and softer. For my nails I did this for the coral and mint shades.

Then, embellish nails with dots and gold studs.
Add black dots to your white nails to make this nail design look even cuter and girly. Stick a gold stud to all nails. Tip! Make sure to use flat gold studs as they stick more easily to nail polish and wear longer. If your studs are flat, they will not even need a top coat to hold them in place and just pressing onto wet color will be perfectly enough for them to attach.

I was not happy with how all of my black dots turned out. Tip! If you want to conceal any of the black dots, put your stud on it so that it will embellish nail and conceal the flaws in the nail design.

Hello lovelies!

What I know for sure for every collection is that it is meant to grow in time and this is what my nail polish collection has been doing steadily over the past few years. So I figured it was high time for me to say goodbye to the good old shoe box where I used to store my nail polishes and come up with a better storage idea. I needed something that would display my bottles in an easy to reach way and will fit in room decoration so I do not have to hide that shoe box in the closet. So here it is, my choice for a pretty and practical DIY nail polish storage, the candy jar!

A candy jar has way more PROs than CONs for nail polish storage and I will share the reasons I chose it for my nail polish collection.

PRO 1: Great display
The candy jar is at the same time a storage solution and a display. You can see through glass and easily reach for the color you need. Tip! Make sure you can put your hand into the candy jar easily!

PRO 2: It is available
This storage solution is easy to find and you will not have to order stands, install them, drill your walls and pay the high price professional products usually have. I got my candy jar at IKEA for a decent price and among a good amount of choices. Many house oriented shops will offer you different candy jar designs and those you love are at your fingertips, ready to go home with you now!

PRO3: Cute decoration
The candy jar makes a beautiful home decoration. You can alter its design to fit your room design. I love how personal this storage solution is after you decorate it. A bow or an old T-shirt or some paper scraps is all you need to add character to your DIY nail polish display. For my jar I used scraps of paper, a few studs and some lace, all of them from previous projects. I decorated only the lid so that the jar will be cute and practical enough and I would see what is inside.

Unfortunately, a single candy jar is very unlikely to fit all of your polishes so I have two tips for you. Tip! Take out your most used and loved nail polishes for the season and put the in the jar. If you know you will not be using black glitter or Christmas greens in spring, just put them away! Take out the polishes you reach out for the most and display them in your cute candy jar! Tip! Get several candy jars to fit your whole collection. I figured that for my collection I would not need more than 3 or 4 large candy jars. You can play with decoration and put them on different places to freshen the room design or you can stack them together so that will l look like real candy treat display :)

So that was my nail polish storage idea, I hope you enjoyed! I would love to know how you store your nail polish collection!

Hello lovelies!

I want to share with you my black and white feather manicure. This is the first time I make such design just because I thought it would be too difficult to draw the feather detail free handedly. I have been so wrong! This nail art is gentle and sophisticated but at the same time easy to make. This feathery manicure can take some hand flinch or some imperfections because the feather detail is meant to look a little fluffy and airy, if this makes any sense :)

I know I promised a post dedicated to my Liebster award nomination and it will be here soon. I just need some more time to think it over so that I will be able to really contribute to this great initiative. Until then, the feather nails :)

First, paint your nails white.
Make sure to use a thick white shade to a sheer one. This will make the perfect canvas for some drawing.

How to add feathers to your nails?
For this feather nail art I used a regular stippling brush from a nail art polish. Aim for a slightly curved line rather than a straight stripe. Start adding short lines from top to bottom of this line, making the strokes slightly longer as you are getting close to the bottom. Do this for the two sides of your feather. At this point it may not look too much as a feather, but it will :) Now add some more strokes to both sides but this time try to make them with a different angle to the main line, slightly crossing your previously created lines. This will create a little depth and motion to your feather.

I think this nail design can easily make a great wedding day manicure.

Last, add a mat top coat.
We all know feathers are not gel-look-top-polish shiny so for this nail art tutorial I picked a mat top coat.

Hello everyone,

Today I want to share with you another wedding manicure I created. It is a classic French manicure embellished with tiny gold and silver beads. This will be a rather straightforward tutorial regarding the nail design but I will take some time to tell you my favorite and easy way to apply embellishments to nails.

Paint your nails a nude color.
You can play with the color and chose your favorite shade which will complement your skin tone. I chose a classic natural beige shade and applied 3 coats to achieve an allover color instead of a see through look.

Add the French tip.
This nail design is based on the classic French manicure. Add a white tip to all your nails using guiding stripes. We have discussed how you can use DIY guiding stripes made by regular tape but for this manicure I would suggest to get original French tip guides. This is because original French tip guides are slightly curved to match your natural nail shape, plus we will be looking for perfection, it is a special day after all :)

How to add gold and silver nail jewels.
I used tiny nail art beads you can find in nail art supplies shops as well as online. You know I do not use nail art glue to stick embellishments to nails. I also do not use any picking tool, my technique to position the beads is very easy, just read on.

+ put some gold and silver beads on a towel. This way they would stay in place and won’t start rolling everywhere
+ add a thin coat of clear nail polish at the base of your French tip
+ press your finger on the beads, some of them will stay on it
+ press your finger with the beads onto the clear nail polish line

This is a clean and easy way to attach all kinds of tiny embellishment to your nails. With practice it gets easier and you will be able to control the result to perfection.

Last, add a fat top coat.
To seal the design together, apply a gel look top coat. I have tried using thinner formulas, but they do not grasp the little embellishment as well as fat ones.

Hello nail art addicts!

Today I want to share with you my thoughts on Essie Repstyle magnetic nail polish collection.

Magnetic nail polishes were a huge trend a few years ago and actually Essie were one of the latest companies to design a magnetic collection and launch it in 2012. However, the 6 shades Essie offer are very classical and can be worn any season and good news is you can now find the Repstyle polishes for a lower price at most online discounter stores.

Colors of this collection are very stylish and I had a really hard time choosing only two shades. I chose Repstyle and Sssexy for the snake skin color of the first and the absolutely gorgeous red shade of the second. Other colors are grey, beige and green also close to reptile skin colors accompanied with a standout blue color.

I have shown Sssssexy to you in my How to use magnetic nail polish tutorial, I am adding the Repstyle color photos.

Essie Repstyle magnetic polishes are metallic colors which get perked up by a unique magnet induced pattern. They are easy to apply and dry fast. These nail polishes have a big cap which holds a larger magnet. This makes creating the pattern easier. When I use them the sides of my largest nails do not get the pattern though. Without a top coat they do not last more than 2 days so I strongly suggest to take five minutes more to apply your favorite clear coat on top of your design. A big advantage of Essie Repstyle nail polishes over other brand magnetic colors is that they are very easy to take off.

Generally, I absolutely love the Repstyle polish collection because I have never seen a pattern so similar to snake skin. I love snake skin as a fashion accent and have tries several times to create a nail design with this animal print and all attempts were a complete disaster. So to me the Repstyle collection is my chance to pull off a unique nail design I love.

Hello manicure lovers!

With so many glittery beauties going on in Holiday season, I decided to share with you how to remove sparkles effectively without scrubbing your nails. All you need is a nail polish remover of your choice, some cotton balls and kitchen aluminum foil.

Soak cotton in nail polish remover
I prefer using makeup removal cotton pads to lose cotton or cotton balls because they are easier to position and do not leave fibers behind. Tip! Cut each pad in four, this way it will fit your nail better and won’t dry out the skin around your nails too much.

Then, wrap nails with kitchen foil and wait
Position each cotton pad on a nail and just wrap your finger tips with kitchen aluminum foil. This will create an individual mini cap for each finger. Wait for 3 minutes. It may feel a little strange to have funny extra terrestrial looking hands but for the sake of the procedure be patient :)

Last, massage and remove caps
Before removing the aluminum caps, massage each nail for 5 seconds. When you take off the cotton and foil, there will be no polish and glitter residue on your nails. This amazing technique works great for all kinds of textured nail polish. I like to moisturize my nails and cuticles right after this procedure as it may be a bit drying to the nail. I have already shared with you my instant remedy for nails – the magical castor oil.

Thanks for joining me and see you soon!.

Hello nail beauty lovers!

I am happy to share with you this mat blue crystal manicure. It is a rather different Christmas nail design inspired by dark blue and silver Christmas decoration.

To create it you will need a few crystals in addition to nail polish. Tip! You can get such sparkly stones in your local haberdashery or crafts supply store. They usually stock various shapes and colors you can use for your manicure projects as easy as special nail art supplies.

First, paint your nails dark blue, leaving your ring and middle fingers clear.
I chose a dark blue shade as I believe it beautifully complements silver color. Other fingers will be colored in different shades to add intrigue to this nail art :)

Then, paint your ring fingers white and your middle fingers silver.
For my middle fingers I chose a liquid sand formula. I love how it adds extra texture to this design making it look like stylish Christmas decoration. You may choose to use a silver glitter, a holograph, a metallic shade or any silver color you love, I think it will look great with these options too.

Then, add a mat top coat to all nails, except liquid sand ones.
Mattifying your nails will tone your nail design down a bit which is perfectly OK, as you will be adding some crystals and you do not want to overdo the sparkle. Tip! Plus, crystals will adhere better and will stay longer on a mat surface.

Last, add a line of crystals to your ring fingers
I used two different sizes of crystals to match my nail length. You can play with stones a little before you adhere them just to make sure they fit your nails. Tip! I do not use some special glue to stick details to my nails. Instead, I use a tiny drop of clear top coat and pres the crystal down. Hold for few seconds to make sure the clear polish has dried. This technique works great with all kinds of details and does not require specific supplies to do your nail art.
