Hello lovelies!

Today I have for you a recent nude find I love. Meet Essie Mamba, a peachy nude nail polish which in my opinion is great for a yellow undertone complexion.

Formula and application
Essie Mamba is an opaque creme. Formula is creamy, easy to distribute, does not streak and builds to even coverage in two coats. Essie Mamba nail polish is packed with the usual fat Essie brush which gives you full control and helps steady application.

Formula dries relatively fast and you can easily expect tw layers to be good to go in a total of 5 minutes.

Wear
This peachy nude wears for 4 days with your usual 2 coats of color + one layer of top coat approach. However, I prefer to apply three coats of color because it wears great literally until you decide to change it. Chips, if they appear, are not too obvious due to the nude origin of Essie Mamba and helps wear a day more.

My verdict
Easy to get hold of and complementing to the skin tone, Essie Mamba is one of my all time favorite nude shades. It is also a great quality formula so I am two thumbs up for this one!

Hello lovelies!

It’s been a week since my last post again… I miss the blog, posting and you my lovelies but life has been super hectic these days and I just can’t seem to find a minute for nails. Anyways, I really hope summer will ease things out :)

Today I have for you one of my greatest nail polish finds. This is Caviar formula by Dance Legend and my particular gem is called Arovana.

Formula and Application
Arovana is a reddish berry jam jelly base filled with tiny dots in black and white. It goes sheer in one coat but your second coat will leave you with fully built glitter and color. Particles are easy to distribute evenly and give a semi textured effect when the formula dries. In my photos I am wearing Arovana with 2 layers of fast drying top coat to help it dry faster and also to make it look smooth and glossy.

Wear
Dance Legend Arovana wears for 4 days with no chips or fades and can wear forever with a few touch ups. If your tips are starting to show after a few days of wear, just seal them with a tiny bit of nail polish and add another layer of top coat. This little trick gave me 2 more days of wear so I had Arovana on for the whole work week and it still looked fresh and beautiful.

My Verdict
I had never come across to a formula similar to Dance Legend Caviar Polish line and I only got one shade to try it out. I am so in love with how great Arovana wears and how much compliment it gets so I will be trying more nail polishes from this amazing line.

What do you think of Dance Legend Arovana? Do you love the look as much as I do?

Hello lovelies!

May is gone and it’s time for my monthly roundup post series. May was a hectic month in any way so I had only 11 posts on the blog. This is not as much as I wanted to post and I missed posting a lot so I am prepared with a plan how to find a way to be more engaged with NailCentric in June :)

Anyways, I had great fun doing designs and reviews in the past month and I will share my three most favorite posts with you.

Hello nail art lovers!

I am a huge fan of water marble nails, I love how intricate and unique the designs using water marble technique turn out and I absolutely hate the fact that this nail art never worked for me. I have read a lot, seen videos of people doing it and ended out wiping off each and every messy and honestly speaking ugly design on my nails. Sometimes I wonder why do I keep trying this thing over and over again…

This post is dedicated to a water marble nail design which I finally liked enough to wear and share :) I will tell you my tips how to make the water marble nail art technique work and I hope it will do as it did for me.

TIP1: Use 2 colors
After giving multi color water marble nails a try a few times and never liked the result I finally came to the conclusion that less may be more and tried a design with only two colors. In my photos I alternated opaque white and gold shades until they created a good base to dip your fingers in :)

TIP2: Use warm water
Warm water helps your chosen colors to spread in the cup you are using and make them easier to layer.

TIP3: Dip to a 45 degree angle
I found out that dipping your fingers to an angle across the water surface gives the best result and saves you from wrinkles and bubbles.

TIP4: Do two nails at a time
Dipping two nails together into your water marble design is faster. Also, you can get interesting patterns which complement each other due to the fact that they were picked out of the same base pattern.

TIP5: Use oil to protect your skin
I have seen many bloggers recommend to use tape around your nail which you can remove later and reduce the amount of clean up after each dip into your water marble design. I found this technique time consuming and too messy so I tried oil. Rubbing whatever oil you have in handy into your cuticles and finger will prevent nail polish from sticking to these areas and make the clean up process much easier and quicker.

So these are my ideas to make the water marble nails work.

Hello lovelies!

Today I want to share with you my latest nail polish love. It is a color changing beauty by Dance Legend.

The photo below shows how Dance Legend Thermo Shine 182 changes a few second after I have dipped my fingers in cold water :)

Color
Dance Legend 182 is part of Dance Legend Thermo Shine nail polish collection featuring 4 color changing formulas. It changes between a strawberry jam color when your fingers are hot to a deep purple blackberry sourbet color when your fingers are cold.

Formula and application
This nail polish formula is a jelly base packed with glitter in two shapes: small dots and larger hex shapes. Glitter is silver but appears light pink into the jelly color base.

Dance Legend Thermo Shine 182 covers nails perfectly in two coats. It is fairly easy to work with given the fact that glitter is usually a bit harder to distribute on nails.

Wear
It is super fun to wear this nail color! I love how dynamic your nails are throughout the day depending on how the temperature changes. When your fingers are hot, it appears as a beautiful glitter strawberry jelly color and when it is cold outside it becomes dark and mysterious purple shade. In room temperature is shifts beautifully between the two and finally finds its balance creating an amazing gradient effect. I wore 2 coats with a top coat for 3 days with no chips. Formula is a bit hard to remove because of the glitter but with some patience it will not need any special attention to take off.

My verdict
I love this color! It is dynamic and different, I got a ton of compliments wearing it and it will be one of my all time favorites forever :)

Hello lovelies!

I got a great nail art set in the nail mail soon and I am hurrying to share with you my thoughts on it. I got this 7 piece brush set from the Born Pretty Store as a gift item to review along with a 10% discount coupon code for my readers!

I was anticipating this set as I have never owned and used brushes and tools specially designed for nail art. I had always used items as in my DIY manicure products for free post and was curious to try real nail art brushes :)

So this is a design I made to test out some of the items in my kit. I painted my accent nail a hot pink shade using OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips. Then I dipped a large fan brush (always wanted to try this technique) into China Glaze What a Pansy and brushed it on the pink while it was still a bit damp and the second color blended into the first one. I then used a small brush to paint a palm across my ring finger. For the palm I painted a few rough lines to guide me and then added tiny strokes to mimic the palm leaves.

My brushes came into a pink pack, equipped with an individual cap (except the fan brush). My kit features 7 brushes with white wooden handles and quality bristles. The fan and the small brushes I used for my Summer palms design were super easy to control and clean. Honestly, I was not expecting to like the result of my first palms experiment so much but it turned out so easy to do with the right set of tools.

Here are some photos of the brush set in package and the brushes with individual caps off so that you can get an idea of the brush shape, density and make.

Hello lovelies!

Today’s post is my first nail polish comparison on the blog.

Essie Shearling Darling OPI Visions of Love

Essie Shearling Darling and OPI Visions of Love comparison and swatches

The stars are the dark and vampy Essie Shearling Darling and OPI Visions of Love. Both are winter 2013 releases and look like each other very much. I love deep reds and I am happy I have these in my collection but with them being so close color siblings I am not sure I would insist on both in future.

To compare the colors I have Essie Shearling Darling on my index and middle fingers and OPI Visions of Love on my ring and little fingers, each in two coats with one layer of top coat. Simply by looking at the swatches you can tell Shearling Darling is a bit lighter than OPI Visions of Love. These shots were taken in daylight and this color difference is much more visible than if you are looking at the colors in artificial light.

Essie Shearling Darling OPI Visions of Love swatches

Essie Shearling Darling (index and middle) and OPI Visions of Love(ring and little)

The formula of these two is rather different though. Essie Shearling Darling is a creme, super easy to apply and build perfect coverage in two coats. Dries fast and with a top coat wears great for two days. OPI Visions of Love is a sheer creme or a crelly if you wish. First coat goes on a bit patchy and if you do not pay special attention when applying the second coat you may need even a third one to get flawless color. Two coats and a top layer wear perfect for three days.

Both Shearling Darling and Visions of love are awful stainers so I suggest using them over a base and removing them with extra caution or they might color your cuticles in a reddish color and make them look sore.

Thanks for reading my thoughts on these two mysterious beauties, I hope you enjoyed!
