Hello manicure lovers!

Welcome back to share the third post from my sequel thread dedicated to next season nail trends. Today it is all about two strong trends for spring summer 2014 as seen on fashion week runway shows: metallic nails and pastel shades.

Metallic nails trend
Metallic nails are on for 2014. Silver, gold, unconventional hues, whatever the color, metallic nails rock spring summer season. Nail shapes vary from long and pointed to short and round, but it is all ok as soon as nails glisten in a precious color.

Pastel shades trend
They are here again! Pastel colors seem to be a recurring trend from the past season and looks like we will have them a lot in 2014. Pastels are most seen on short nails in classical application. Casual for everyday, suitable for the office, this trend is familiar but still far from boring as color choices are almost unlimited. Fit your nails to your clothing style and pastels may turn out to be you most wearable nail trend for spring summer 2014 season.

Here is a preview to my next nail trends post for the most curious: stripes.

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to the 2014 nail trends series! In this second post from the sequel thread we will talk about two more nail trends for 2014 as seen on fashion week runway shows: altered French and half moon nails.

Altered French manicure trend
French manicure stays on top of this season’s trends but with an altered image. Add an unexpected color to your nail tips and you will fit the trend. Workplace friendly and easy to go with various outfits, we will see the colored tip a lot in 2014.

The half moon nail trend
Another popular look of the runways is the half moon manicure. All color combinations are welcome as soon as nails are rounded or square and you are not afraid to be noticed :) Some call the half moon look the reverse French nail and I can see the logic to that, especially now that it appears in trends list repeatedly season after season and may turn out to be a classic as its original French predecessor. I will make a tutorial to show you how to create half moon manicure soon so stay tuned!

Hello nail art lovers!

Welcome to the 2014 nail trends series! This is the first post from this sequel thread and we will talk about two key trends for spring summer 2014 as seen on fashion week runway shows: natural nails and white nails.

Natural nails trend
Delicate natural shades are one of the key nail trends for spring 2014. Nails are beige, skin toned, sometimes completely naked with just a top coat to add a little healthy glow. This trend seemed uninteresting to me at first but I must admit it has some generous positives. Natural look is perfect for the office, works for short nails and is great to complement a bolder fashion look.

White and off-white nails trend
White is the star of spring summer 2014 nails. No matter if you like your nails short and round or long and pointy, white will definitely work for you. If you get bored from simple white, you may go for any off-white shade as it was also seen a lot at fashion week runways.

Hello nail art lovers!

I am happy to share with you the nail trends for the upcoming year 2014. Many of you requested this topic :) Instead of one huge post I decided this to be a separate thread. I will post for you a new trend every day with some great imagery and nail trends illustration.

Nail trends of 2014 are for sure varied and maybe even controversial. Delicate natural colors oppose popping brights, plain white at day turns to bold black at night, shy pastels smile quietly while metallic shades conquer the world, jewels shine and stripes line unseen fashion territories. A whole symphony of options paraded at this year’s fashion week runways to show us what to pick for spring/summer 2014 season.

Here is a sneak peek at my first 2014 nail trends post: natural nails. Stay tuned for another nail trend I will present!

Hello dear manicure lovers!

Today I want to share with you my best nail art tool ever. I love it, it helps me a lot in maintaining clean and precise nails. We are going to talk about the nail polish corrector pencil, so welcome back to my Manicure Essentials column dedicated to vital nail products other than nail color.

What is it?
Nail polish corrector pencil is basically a stick filled with nail polish remover and equipped with a soft cuticle pusher. When the cuticle pusher tip is fixed onto the pencils top, it gets saturated with polish remover. The fine angled point gives you full control to what and where precisely you want to correct.

How to use the nail polish corrector?
It is as simple as this: just gently touch the nail polish you messed up and wipe away the excess. It happens to everyone, you are in hurry, you put on your polish and you accidentally touch a cuticle with nail color and ruin it all. In this scenario nail polish corrector pencil saves the day. You can even clean up in the design itself. Let’s say you have layered a base color with some stripes but your hand flinched a little. Here comes the nail polish corrector pencil!

This tool usually has several replaceable sticks so it is a multiple use tool. Tip! Dedicate some tips to light nail polishes, some to dark colors and some for brights. This will prevent bolder colors from staining your nails with some burgundy residue from your last clean up.

I get my pencil at the drugstore and always have one in handy. My choice is Essence Studio Nails nail polish corrector pencil. This particular pencil comes with three replacement tips which leaves you with four tips altogether. I use them up for about 3-6 months and I do a lot of nail art (I try to be careful though).

Hello everyone!

I am writing this post a few days before Christmas, on a chilly morning after having wrapped all the presents chosen to make my dearest ones happy. I am thinking what is next, after Holiday season madness is over and Christmas spirit will go away to hold us again a year later. And I know the answer – spring 2014 will come! Welcome back to my column for anticipated and inspiring nail products that are about to be released.

I am anticipating spring color collections, nail polish trends and the arriving of something new to freshen up the old. See, Chanel Notes du Printemps makeup collection even made me a little poetic, it really sings Notes of Spring :) With creamy reds, dreamy pinks, velvety frowns, this color collection is so very optimistic! But enough on makeup, let’s have a sneak peek at the nail polish color concept.

Chanel spring 2014 collection features 3 nail polish color, beautifully complementing the whole Notes du Printemps color concept.

Hello manicure lovers! In the middle of winter Holiday season I will show you how to create a vibrant and tropical manicure. It is easy, eye catching and great for parties and clubbing. This graffiti nail art is also suitable for short nails. Read on for this party nails tutorial.

First, paint some of your nails turquoise and some of them black.
I love how vivid turquoise color is so I use it a lot when I need to inspire good mood and the party spirit :) You can choose any other tropical color you prefer.

Paint the tips of your turquoise nails purple.
Good news! This is not a gradient manicure and it will be covered with a graffiti nail polish and that’s why you do not need to be precise. Just use your free hand to add the purple color on top of the turquoise one. Tip! Use a thicker and richer formula over the base color. This will make it easier to add the contrasting color with only one layer.

Last, add graffiti nail polish to all your nails.
Graffiti nail polish is one of my favorite nail polish effects as it can transform any look with just one stroke. Plus, it always gives you a different layout as it is also a little unpredictable :) Tip! Make sure to apply a thin layer of graffiti polish because this way it will crack to smaller bits and will not overlay too much of the color below. The reason I apply black graffiti nail polish over black color is that I am in love with the texture effect which comes out. I know it may be hard for others to see, but I love textured crackle detail and am OK to admire it alone :)
